Embio has set up a full-fledged, state-of-art independent
R&D centre - Embio Research Centre with
organic and bio-technology wings and a comprehensive
analytical laboratory as well. The
new R&D Centre was inaugurated in the first week
of February 2003 by Dr. S. Sivaram, Director, National
Chemical Laboratory, Pune.

new centre comprises of four major divisions viz.
Synthetic Chemistry Division, Biotechnology Division,
Analytical Division and the Pilot Plant. |

R&D activities in Embio began from June
1997 and were involved in development of new processes
for products and also involved in continuous improvement
of yields.
The emphasis of the new R&D Centre will be
to fortify Embio’s core strengths in
bio-process technology and venture into new value
added areas such as Chiral Agents andChiral
Auxiliaries.
Continuing recognition has encouraged
Embio to diversify from its core expertise
of Fermentation / Bio-transformation processes
to Custom Synthesis of newer Chiral APIs / Intermediates
as well.
